The Drivers Plus driver assessment scheme

When you are looking for an agency to meet your driver needs you need to have the confidence that the agency and the driver do not compromise. This is why we ASSESS all our new and existing drivers, which we believe increases the quality of the drivers we send to our clients.

Drivers Plus wants to change that negative perception and fast!

In partnership with an independent HGV training school we have devised a bespoke practical assessment day that all new and existing drivers must complete before they are placed with our clients. This assessment day sets us apart from our competitors and ensures that we only deliver the highest quality drivers.

We feel it is imperative that as a company we want to provide a service that is better than our competitors, it is imperative that we differentiate between an excellent, good or bad driver and not just put a “bum on a seat”.

Our assessment day consists of the following:

• Monitoring the loading and unloading of vehicles by others
• Completing pre-driving preparations
• Maintaining the safety and security of the load
• Awareness of driving conditions
• Vehicle operating systems
• Driving the vehicle of public roads
• Driving the vehicle in restricted areas
• Unloading the vehicle
• Coupling and uncoupling the vehicle
• WTD Training
• Digi Card Training

At the end of the assessment day the drivers also sit a highway code, tacho graph and a working hours test. The results are then graded, along with those of the driver assessment, to give an overall grade between A and E. Drivers Plus only employs drivers who achieve grade A to C.

Following new legislation brought into force in September 2009, all our drivers will now be put through their DRIVERS CPC qualification as part of our ongoing assessment program.
