HGV Class 1 Days and Tramping

Class 1 Driver / Class 1 Tramper Driver – Bradford

One of our family-run clients based in Bradford is looking to add another Class 1 Driver to their team. They're ideally looking for a tramper driver who is happy to stay out Monday to Friday, but they'll also consider someone looking for Class 1 day work.

This is an ongoing position with the possibility of a permanent job if it's something you enjoy.

The ideal candidate will be available Monday to Friday, with weekend work available if you want it, although it's completely optional.

Start times are usually around 6:00am-7:00am, but if you prefer an earlier start, the client is happy to work around this where possible.

You'll generally be working 10-12 hour shifts. If you're tramping, you'll be sleeping in the cab during the week. The trucks are fitted with a bed and fridge, and you'll stay in the same vehicle all week, so it really does become your home from home.

What will you be doing?

Typical day-to-day work includes:

• Full loads out to customers.


• Returning with backloads.


• Meeting other drivers to complete trailer swaps.

Another big plus is that this client isn't part of the pallet network, so you'll be delivering to their own customers rather than doing pallet network work. They also have work available all year round for the right driver.

Pay

• £17.50 per hour (including holiday pay)


• £15.62 per hour (holiday accrued separately)


• £26.20 tax-free night out allowance for every night out

PAYE only - we don't use umbrella companies.

Although this client is currently advertising for a Class 1 Driver, they often have various roles available – we'll always try to match you with suitable work.

What we need from you

For insurance purposes, you'll need:

• A valid HGV/LGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.


• Minimum 2 years with an HGV licence and at least 6 months HGV driving experience.


• A valid Driver CPC.


• A valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.

We can accept up to 6 penalty points, however we cannot accept DD, DG, DR, TT, CD or IN endorsements.
